CANDLEWOOD SUITES
Candlewood Suites received the "Chain Leadership" award in the Environmental Action category from the editors of Lodging Hospitality magazine for IHG's reserves program. IHG created a pilot program with Candlewood Suites to determine if it was possible to divert and reuse some of the enormous waste generated from remodeling hotel rooms. Working with 55 properties nationally during the Candlewood Suites bedding replacement roll-out, and in partnership with the National Furniture Bank, nearly 270 tons of discarded material was diverted from landfills and more than 4,300 families received useable bedding material. As a result, Candlewood Suites owners were saved $100,000 in disposal costs.

Towel Amnesty Day campaign wins Bulldog Award. The Holiday Inn Towel Amnesty Day campaign won a Bulldog Media Relations Gold Award in the Special Events and Stunts category for 2005. Bulldog Reporter is a well-known and highly respected weekly newsletter in the Americas PR industry.
Holiday Inn was a winner in PR News' Platinum PR Awards program in the External Publications category for "About the Towels, We Forgive You...Holiday Inn's Book Of Towel Tales".
Holiday Inn's SVP Brand Management, Mark Snyder received an honorable mention for Brand Marketer of the Year from PR News' 2005 PR People Awards.
Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts-Canada was awarded Best of Show honors in the Single category for "Long Goodnight," a 30-second spot at the Bessie Awards. The spot, which targets business travelers, features a guest saying goodnight to several characters from his office that are crammed into his hotel room. The Bessie awards are designed to promote the use of television as an advertising medium in Canada. The awards are presented by the Television Bureau of Canada in conjunction with the Broadcast Executives Society.
